Premiered by Raymond Torres-Santos and Robert Remstein at the Schoenberg Hall, University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) as part of the New Music Series (April 1983). Subsequently, performed by Rubén Sueiras and Rubén Malán at the 2nd Latin American Arts Festival in San Juan, Puerto Rico (October 1984) and at the 1985 Ethnomusicology Society National Convention held at UCLA. A version for two grand pianos was performed by Larry McFatter and Raymond Torres-Santos at the California State University, San Bernardino, as part of the Faculty Artist Series (April 1987).
